Description
Specimen Requirements 
Container Yellow ACD-A or ACD-B, or Lavender (EDTA), green (Na Heparin) tubes, sterile cup, syringe, transport tube
Specimen Type Peripheral blood, bone marrow, CSF, body fluids, or solid tissue
Preferred Collection Volume One full 10 mL yellow ACD, 4 mL lavender EDTA or green (Na+Heparin) tube; CSF/Solid tissue: as much as possible;
Minimum Collection Volume At least 3 mL bone marrow preferred
Collection Instructions Place solid tissues in 20% NCS Flow Cytometry media (preferred), RPMI or saline.
Specimen Handling Store and transport peripheral blood and bone marrow at room temperature. CSF, body fluids and solid tissues should be maintained at a refrigerated temperature (2-8 degrees C)
Rejection Criteria Peripheral blood specimens: Tube less than 1/2 full, clotted or severely hemolyzed. Tissues received in fixatives such as formalin, glutaraldehyde or B-5
